Ambitions are more likely to succeed if they are based on the traits and stats that the character in question possesses.

Here are some examples of tasks that characters with certain stats might excel at. This list is neither exhaustive, nor recommended, it is merely there to provide context and inspire your own Ambitions.

Resourcefulness

  1. Gathering Intelligence:
Resourceful characters can send spies to gather critical information about enemy movements, hidden alliances, or secret negotiations. This intelligence could then be used to turn the tide of an upcoming war or political gambit.

  2. Sowing Misinformation:
A Resourceful character might plant false rumors to disrupt an enemy’s plans or weaken a rival’s support among the lords of Westeros, manipulating the flow of information to their advantage.

  3. Covert Infiltration:
Disguising themselves or their agents as servants or lesser nobles to gain access to secret meetings or restricted areas of a rival’s keep, Resourceful characters excel in slipping unnoticed where others would be caught.

  4. Hiring Assassins:
Sometimes the best way to deal with a rival is to remove them entirely. A Resourceful character could discreetly arrange for an assassin to eliminate a political foe or military leader without implicating their house.

  5. Intercepting Messages:
They could disrupt enemy plans by intercepting important letters or ravens, learning their opponent’s next move, or sending false orders to confuse their enemies.

Fortitude

  1. Strengthening Fortifications:
They might oversee the building or repair of defensive structures like castles or walls, ensuring that key locations remain secure against potential invasions.

  2. Building Fleets:
Put in charge of raw materials such as timber and iron, they could both construct navies and recruit sailors to bolster your naval defense or offense.

  3. Surviving Harsh Conditions:
These characters can be sent on missions where survival is paramount, such as traveling through dangerous terrain, withstanding a long winter, or surviving a storm at sea.

  4. Defending a Castle Under Siege:
In the event of a siege, Fortitude characters could manage the defense, rationing supplies, bolstering morale, and leading the defense in the face of overwhelming odds.

  5. Inspiring Loyalty or Stubborn Resistance:
Their leadership could inspire troops or vassals to remain loyal in difficult times, preventing desertions or rebellions in situations where other characters might fail.

Stewardship

  1. Negotiating Trade Agreements:
Stewardship characters excel at creating advantageous trade deals between houses, ensuring a steady flow of crucial resources like food, materials, or coin to their allies.

  2. Hosting Diplomatic Events:
A Stewardship character could host important events like feasts, weddings, or councils, where diplomacy and alliances are solidified through social and political engagement.

  3. Securing Marriages for Alliances:
They might negotiate marriages between houses, ensuring the family they represent gains powerful new allies or access to valuable resources.

  4. Mediating Disputes:
Acting as mediators, Stewardship characters can settle disputes between rival lords or factions, maintaining peace and preventing costly conflicts.

  5. Cultivating Loyalty Among the People:
By distributing food, gold, or other resources to the smallfolk, they can ensure that the people stay loyal and content, reducing the chance of uprisings or rebellions.

Command

  1. Leading Armies into Battle:
Command characters can lead full-scale military campaigns, deploying armies to conquer enemy lands, protect territories, or reinforce an ally in need.

  2. Executing a Siege:
They could lay siege to an enemy castle, cutting off supplies and devising strategies to weaken morale and eventually force a surrender.

  3. Serving as Champion in Trials by Combat:
In situations where trials by combat are called for, a confident Command character might volunteer as champion, representing themselves or another character with their skill in battle.

  4. Increasing Levies and Training:
Command characters can take charge of diverting resources towards war. Making more troops available through increased preparation may be costly but worthwhile.

  5. Crushing Rebellions:
If local lords or factions rise up against the crown or the player’s house, Command characters can be sent to swiftly and decisively quash the rebellion and restore order.
