2.
A Royal Wedding.

As war rages in the Riverlands, King's Landing's unprecedented era of peace births a special occasion. The streets of the city are filled with the smallfolk who have been promised generous donations and celebration. The Sept of Baelor, damaged in the fires at Blackwater, is almost fully restored to its old magnificence. Like the old wounds of the city are healing, so shall those of the royal line.

A wedding procession marches down the streets. On the steps of the great sept, Borys Baratheon, Warden of the Stormlands and Hand of the King, stands with Princess Aelora Targaryen, firstborn daughter of King Rhaegel I.

"In the sight of the Seven, I hereby see you these two souls, binding them as one for eternity. Look upon one another and say the words.
Father. Smith. Warrior. Mother. Maiden. Crone. Stranger. I am hers, and she is mine, from this day, till the end of my days."

Houses Baratheon and Targaryen have always been close. And so it is, that another union is joined.

It is rumored however, that solemn vows of rebellion may be exchanged here...

A Royal Army.

A wedding comes to an end in King's Landing. The Hand of the King issues an order. It is time to march. Time to put an end to the madness. A royal army assembles. Crownlanders, Stormlanders, Northeners, Reachmen, all stand ready to serve the King's justice.

An army marches up the Goldroad, a giant force, truly magnificent in its splendor.

It reaches the town of Stoney Sept within the month, it is taken without sturggle, no sign of the Lannister force occupying it.

Peace will come to westeros. If not by ink, then by steel.

5.
The Battle of Riverrun.

Fear lives in the hearts of men. The soldiers of House Lannister took Riverrun without it.
The bloodshed began after the gates had already fallen. Then, camp was set, the army
enjoying the spoils of war. It took weeks for news. A scouting party had been missing, lost
after collecting taxes from local villages. The soldiers remained optimistic, reinforcements
were near. Raventree Hall held a Lannister force, Stoney Sept another one. Even if House Tully marched, the Lannister army was large. Then the news came: Rhaela Velaryon was under orders to move the remaining force, but not to Riverrun. The castle was to be held by this host alone. That is when it began. The fear. Men began deserting.

Tyndar Lannister sat with his younger brother Maxwell. They would defend this castle, win this fight and hold Riverrun for their father. House Lannister would prosper, Caterly Rock would, once again, be feared as the most formidable power in the realm. They would be heroes. Celebrated in the halls of the Red Keep. They would marry silver haired princesses and command massive hosts.
The two brothers drank deep into the night. The realization had dawned on them long ago. They commanded forty thousand spears. The man riding for them commanded more. In the morning, they would face him. And they would be heroes. One way or another.

"If one of us rides to Casterly Rock tomorrow..." Maxwell had spoken over that last cup of wine "...I hope it's you" Tyndar had replied.

Dawn breaks. Lord Tully sits in a small boat, his armor covered by a long cloak. The Lannister boys have set up smartly, using the Red Fork and the castle to deny him his superior numbers. Lord Tully was not eager to prolong this fight however. This was his ground, his home. The villagers had been useful. They had been ferrying Rivermen upstream for weeks. And for weeks, he had engaged patrols and scouts, keeping the perimeter small. Now he was ready. One force would engage them from the Red Fork. Another would swallow them whole, charging up the Riverroad. The Hammer and the Anvil, on a narrow stretch of land, rivers on both sides, the ground slick with mud. It would be a massacre.

And it was. The right flank had completely disintegrated as Lord Tully charged toward the castle. The center had not succeded in preventing the crossing. The Lannister host had been pinned against the moat and mercilessly cut down. Lord Tyndar had watched his brothers column be overrun and destroyed. He had pivoted his cavalry, only to be stopped by pikemen. As the Tully force pushed his flank, he had been whisked away, loaded into a small raft to float down the Tumblestone toward Ashemark.

Lord Tully had seen the bodies of Arryn's and Stark's. But as he watched Lord Maxwell Lannister being pulled from the carnage, he remarked how his blood matched the color of his cloak. "Smart, those lions are. You can barely tell he's dead".

6.
A Castle in the Sky.

The Eyrie is a magnificent castle, the primary defense between the Vale of Arryn and the Bloody Gate. With their defeat at Ironoaks and the recent tumult in the Riverlands, the army of House Tully has left the Vale month ago.

Now Ser Robin Redfort retakes the ancient keep for his liege lord. With little defenders left, the Knights of the Vale quickly oust any Riverlands influence left and present the castle back to House Arryn.

7.
Harrenhal, the Seat of Kings.

The cursed keep of Harrenhal has stood by the God's Eye for two
centuries. A grim reminder of the wrath of Kings.

As the Lords and Ladies of the Riverlands gather under the banner of
House Tully, the atmosphere is elated with the recapture of Riverrun.
Lord Frey is surprised to see Lord Cafferen amongst the gathered
crowd. A representative of the King and House Baratheon.

As the celebration continue, Knights of House Dayne and Goodbrother,
of far away lands are counted amongst the guests. A soldier of House
Frey drinks with a Stormlander. A guard of House Tully drinks with a
Stormlander. And then, suddenly, it is too late.

Shouts are heard outside. The Baratheon Knights arise. Lord Cafferen
raises his cup. He toasts to House Tully, to House Frey and to the
Riverlords. He informs them that his troops have arrived and will be
encircling Harrenhal shortly. Many of the guests stand, just to bend
the knee and swear fealty to the King and his peace. Lord Frey amongst
them. He is taken by Baratheon knights and led toward an isolated
tower, to remain there, unharmed, until the small army has taken
control of the large keep.

There, he is confronted with an old acquaintance. The honorable Lady
Linda Lefford is being escorted down the same hallway. Lord Frey sees her wearing the sigil of House Piper, a disguise that might have swayed him in his drunken state. But Lord Cafferen seems to have been ahead of him. He wonders how much the Dayne's and Goodbrother's were paid to swear fealty to quickly. Or how large the army is that occupies this keep.

He wonders what will happen to him. If he will be released within the fortnight or sent to the execution block in King's Landing. He thinks that the noble's quarters he is being led to would suggest that House Baratheon only seeks to to hold him shortly, without harm or insult. But he looks over to the Lady Lefford and how she is being led to comfortable accommodations as well. Then he asks for ale to pass the time.

Long Lived the King.

The Water Gardens of Sunspear stretch for
miles. They were a gift from Prince Maron
Martell to his bride, Prince Daenerys. As she
came from the temperate warmth of the
Crownlands. Now, the premises serve as the
oasis of their court.

It here that, away from the prying eyes and
ears of Sunspear, Prince Maron discusses a
risky decision with his courtiers.

"To take a falcon in our midst", they assure
him "was risk enough. But this?" their prince
seems sure. He will reveal this at the wedding.
He cannot stand on the side of silence for
this. Aerys was his wife's kin. "So is Rhaegel"
they try to sway him. It is of little use. His
courtiers blame Bugeater, the old man that
has arrived with his liege lord. Many in Dorne
worry that this will throw the broken arm into chaos.

Not long after, the Watergardens hold the marital celebrations. Prince Maron shies from no expense. All the Lords of Dorne gather for his daughters wedding. Lord Artys Arryn stands beside a Septon as the Prince leads his daughter toward her new Husband. Cheers erupt, the Dornish can never sour a celebration.

"In the sight of the Seven, I hereby see you these two souls, binding them as one for
eternity. Look upon one another and say the words.

Father. Smith. Warrior. Mother. Maiden. Crone. Stranger. I am hers, and she is mine,
from this day, till the end of my days."

As wine pours by the barrel and music scores the dancers and acrobats, the Prince retreats to
the palace with this advisor, the old Bugeater. After the Lords and Ladies have sufficiently
drunken and enjoyed the festivities, the Prince emerges. A stage is prepared for him, his new
son takes his side, accompanied by his bride. Prince Maron calls for silence.

Lord Artys steps forward to deliver his message. He speaks of Dorne and House Martell, of
the Vale and House Arryn, and he speaks of King's Landing, of the Red Keep and of Aegon
the conqueror. He addresses Princess Daenerys and the Peace of King Daeron the Good.
"Of his sons," he shouts "three remained after Breakspear. Aerys, Rhaegel and Maekar." A
Lord from the crowd, clearly deep in his cups, interrupts him: "two! Starks killed Aerys!"
That was the que Lord Arryn awaited. Bugeater approaches the banquet with an old man
of silver hair.

Quickly Lord Arryn bent the knee, so do some in the audience. As Aerys Targaryen I. excuses
them to stand, Princess Daenerys steps forward to vouch for the him. She emphatically
ensures the crowd that this is indeed her nephew.

Now, on his feet again, Lord Artys presents the climax to his speech. As the funeral held for
Aerys Targaryen was symbolic after his disappearance, the crowning of his brother Rhaegel
is rendered illegitimate. So are the actions that Prince Rhaegel took in his tenure, including
the ascension of House Baratheon to their position.

Artys Arryn argues that the true King had not returned to King's Landing as House Baratheon
had orchestrated the fall of King's Landing and the demise of House Targaryen to install the
mad Rhaegel as a puppet King. That the House of the Dragon would never be safe as long as
usurpers and cutthroats held the Iron Throne.

With the confirmations of both King Aerys I. and his aunt, their Princess Daenerys, the crowd
of Dornish Lords erupted at once. Between cries for war and revenge "Long live the King" was
directed at the old Aerys Targaryen.

As Artys bends the knee again, unsheathing his sword and offering it to the King, the crowd
follows suit. Bugeater looks over at the Prince's coy smile. Here was an army of Lords, ready
to die for a King that returned from the supposed grave.

The House of the Usurper would fall, so that the Dragon could thrive once again. And the Stag
would give way for the Falcon.

9.
The Prince of Summerhall.

Maekar Targaryen stands ready at Summerhall when he receives the news. His brother lives, his aunt vouches for it. Maekar thinks about his private doubts. After the death of Aerys, the chaos and the rebellion, he had put the continuation of his family above all. He would not watch mummers destroy the legacy of the conqueror. The feeble Rhaegel could not serve but his children could maybe. House Baratheon would support them. But now, he stood alone at Summerhall as the Stag married his niece. And, he thought, Aerys lived. It would not do. He had been informed, Lord Arryn blamed the times of chaos, the Stark insurrection they had forgotten so quickly in the crisis of Blackfyre revolts, on House Baratheon. What would it be? To keep a dishonest peace and allow the line of Rhaegel to reestablish his House? Or to risk it all, defending the rightful claim of Aerys? The question was none for Maekar. He told his envoys to spread the word.

House Targaryen stands with King Aerys. All that remain loyal shall rid us from the vultures that have preyed on our weakening.
